Thames Celebrant Ceremonies
Celebrant ceremonies let you plan your own personal ceremony – your way.
To hold your celebrant ceremony on a Turk’s boat along the Thames will be a truly unique way to celebrate, that will stand your special day apart from the rest.
A boat provides a memorable venue for weddings, vow renewals and naming ceremonies. We can cater for 20 – 150 guests.
The legal bit
We are essentially private hire for private entertaining – the boats are not licensed to hold a legally binding ceremony.
If your celebration requires a legal signing – such as a marriage – then the legal part would have to take place at a register office or church.
Your celebrant ceremony is what we can help with.
How would a celebrant ceremony work on a boat?
We have 5 different sized boats that accommodate 20 – 150 people. When you private hire a boat, it is exclusively your venue for the duration of your event.
The boats are best suited for informal ceremony settings. They work brilliantly if you are planning a ceremony where people can stand around you as the ceremony takes place.
On the larger boats, minimal seating can be arranged – subject to any table set-up for dinner.
If you are planning a ceremony that would require a formal setting of many rows of chairs, our boats would not be suitable due to space, and storage post ceremony during the cruise.
To be saying our personal vows with the stunning views of the Thames passing by in the background was more special than we could have imagined. All of our guests loved it and are still talking about it months on! Jacqui T

What works well for Celebrant Ceremonies
We hosted a wonderful wedding celebrant ceremony on our Yarmouth Belle.
The couple made their entrance walking up the two spiral staircases from the lower to the upper deck to their applauding guests, and then a beautiful ceremony was held with their family and friends standing around them.
They had just 10 chairs arranged for elderly relatives, but even they wanted to stand when they could as it was a ceremony that saw everyone involved in the spirit of the occasion. Read case study
Why choose a celebrant ceremony on a boat?
It is intimate in a special way that no other local venue could offer. All the while you have the most stunning and changing views of the Thames between Richmond, Kingston and Hampton Court Palace passing by.
Turk’s select list of caterers, entertainers, florists and decorations specialists take care of each detail to personalise your boat as you would like. This means the least amount of stress for you. And just take a look at the views…
