Group River Trips - Terms and Conditions

All Group River Trip bookings are subject to our terms and conditions

1. APPLICATION

  • These conditions apply to all bookings.
  • Any brochure or promotional literature is for general guidance only - the terms and basis of the booking are set out solely in these terms and conditions.
  • In these terms and conditions, the "Hirer" means the person or entity that makes the booking.
  • All notices and correspondence should be sent to Turk Launches Ltd, Town End Pier, 68 High Street, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 1HN.

2. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Any special requirements for access or carriage (in particular by wheelchair) must be notified at the time of making the booking. Turk Launches is able to carry conventional collapsible wheelchairs (where advance notice is given), but regrets that for operational reasons it cannot carry electric wheelchairs. Where particular requirements are made known at the time of booking, Turk Launches will endeavour to assist in the provision of conventional collapsible wheelchairs.

3. CHARGES

  • Unless otherwise stated in writing the charges are for carriage only - they do not include charges for beverages, food or entrance to special events.

4. CANCELLATIONS

  • If the booking is made by a consumer, notice is given in accordance with Regulation 12 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (SI 2000 No. 2334) that the consumer has the right to give notice of cancellation of this booking to Turk Launches. Such notice must be given no later than the expiry of seven working days beginning with the day after the day on which this contract is concluded.
  • If this booking is cancelled where these Regulations apply and in accordance with these Regulations then any charges paid to Turk Launches will be refunded in full.

5. PAYMENT

  • If a booking is made within 14 days of the scheduled sailing date payment is required in full on making the booking.
  • If the booking is made more than 14 days before the scheduled sailing date a deposit of £25 is payable on making the booking and the balance payable in full no later than 14 days before the scheduled sailing date. If the balance is not paid within this period Turk Launches reserves the right to cancel the booking and to recompense it for the loss of business to keep the deposit.
  • Save when notice of cancellation is validly given under the provision of paragraph 4 above in the event of cancellation by the Hirer, Turk Launches reserves the right to retain any deposit.
  • In the event of any emergency or event occurring preventing Turk Launches from operating the scheduled sailing then Turk Launches may by returning all money paid and without further or other liability cancel the booking/contract.

6. VESSEL

  • Turk Launches reserves the right to determine which vessel to use (including one provided by another operator).

7. DELAYS

  • Whilst Turk Launches gives any advice on estimated departure time, journey time, and return time in good faith, because of operational factors beyond its control it does not guarantee the start or completion of any sailing in any specific time and will not accept any liability for any additional expense, cost, loss, delay or inconvenience caused by the actual times of the departure and return.

8. PASSENGER'S PROPERTY

  • Turk Launches and the Master of the vessel will be the sole arbiter as to the carriage of passenger's luggage and its stowage on the vessel. All personal belongings and goods are brought and left on board the vessel at the passenger's own risk. Turk Launches can accept no liability for loss, theft or damage from any cause unless such loss, theft or damage arises from the negligence of Turk Launches, its employees or agents.

9. CONDUCT OF PASSENGERS

  • The Master may decline any passenger whose conduct is in breach of either safety regulations or is unreasonable or may cause injury or nuisance to anyone else to board the vessel and may require that person to be removed from the vessel.
  • Passengers must be alert to all safety notices displayed on the vessel and to announcements made on the vessel and comply with all proper requests of the Master and Crew.

10. CONSUMPTION OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES

  • For reasons of the safety and comfort of other passengers only food or drinks provided either by Turk Launches or by a supplier approved by Turk Launches may be sold or made available for consumption on the vessel.

11. LIABILITY

  • Nothing in this agreement or paragraph removes or limits the liability of Turk Launches for death or personal injury caused by something Turk Launches or its employees or agents does or fails to do.
  • Turk Launches does not accept any liability for any indirect or consequential loss.
  • Turk Launches will not be liable to the Hirer or any passenger for any additional expense, cost, loss, delay or inconvenience caused if Turk Launches cannot operate the sailing or has to curtail the sailing because of something beyond its control (by way of example, adverse conditions on the river).
  • In respect of all other loss Turk Launches liability shall be limited to the hire charges payable for this booking.

12. PLACES RESERVED

  • Places are reserved on the vessel for the scheduled sailing for the number of passengers booked. Any additional passengers who travel must pay prior to boarding the vessel Turk Launches' standard fare. Carriage of additional passengers is subject to the vessel having capacity able to accommodate them.

13. ENGLISH LAW

  • This contract is governed by English Law.

Pre-paid groups (as per our terms and conditions) of 20 plus passengers all travel at the concessionary fare.

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays

Passengers travel at the standard fares - places will be reserved only for pre-paid groups of 20 plus passengers (as per our terms and conditions)
